Sarah in Vogue

As I'm sure you've heard by now, Alaska's Governess, Sarah Palin, was photographed recently for an upcoming issue of Vogue.

No, this isn't an advanced copy, just some Photoshoppin'.

OK that is so not real....

I love how you kept it real - photoshopping glasses in too.

Ishmael said...

Thanks Paige,
Nobody here would recognize her w/o her glasses. She has several pairs in her waredrobe.

You really need some time out of the bunker, Holmes.

Her teeth don't match the white dress.

Also, didn't you read the post about her breastfeeding those 4 kids while they laid on her lap? True story, man.

Maybe some of you don't know what it means to "Photoshop" something. It means it's a fake. Kinda obvious, really, since the Vogue shoot happened three days before my post and what are the odds that Vogue would have a headline that reads "TheKoKon.com."

CRUCIAL BUMP

Hey I just wanted to say I love the page...I put it on my favorites. Especially living in Alaska you would know that your gov, while definitely smokin, has only a couple years experience. I moved to Kentucky from Queens, NY. Plus I work for a radio station cluster that is very right-wing. All day I have to hear about Barack being compared to Hitler and all this other ridiculousness. So..thanks for keepin it real and not being afraid to piss some people off. Very NYC of you :o) See ya next post.

Bet you get a lot of posts on this today! Nice work!

Photoshopped, but no more so than any other Vogue cover...

Hell, as Anon points out, this is probably LESS fake!

joe said...

LOL! Ish, first of all I love your self description: A cranky dude trying to find the humor in a bad situation.

Okay, I found your blog by accident when I was doing a Google image search for Sarah Palin. Yours was the first to pop up, so congratulations on making the top of the search list for Google today!

I'm a big fan of the state of Alaska (although I've never visited). I'm gonna add you to my buddy list and check back frequently. Stop by my blog and say hello sometime. I read blogs at work in an effort to stay sane... Joe

photoshop is a wonderful thing

A governor is a governor, regardless of gender.

A governess is a nanny.

Do they refer to Hilary Clinton as a senatress?

Pfffttt...

wow...very smokin hot VP!! I have been leaning towards Obama cause his wife is hot...but I like this woman. McCain....yep I just may vote for him.

Gman!!

Mediahook said...

Great take, great fake, but seriously, has anyone else noticed she's a ringer for Tony Soprano's shrink, Dr. Jennifer!

Tracey said...

Ok, this picture was allegedly taken in December, 2007. Didn't she give birth to her last child in April, 2008? There is no way that this is her body, or at the very least isn't airbrushed to the skies. If nothing else, Sarah Palin should be ashamed of the example she is setting for her young daughters that she isn't pretty enough to grace the cover of Vogue unless you've been photo-shopped first. She is a beautiful woman and should have insisted that she be on the cover in her natural state...just like Jamie Lee Curtis does.

gatsbychick said...

And for those who aren't scrolling through all comments...I'll restate this for some people *cough* Tracey *cough*
This is a photoshop. It's fake.

mashmouth said...

oh, my...
@ Tracey... Further confirmation that people that don't read the obvious vote for those with a (D)... lol.
Relax a second and read the blurb next to the picture...

IMrJared said...

Pretty funny. The word "VOGUE" would probably be behind her head, though, with just enough showing to read the word. Most people know what it says, anyway. Pretty hilarious, though, I must say. You got my props.

honey23bee said...

Funny! Before I saw photoshop I was thinking her head was too big for her body!

Sean Holman said...

Ishmael - It appears Canwest News Service didn't realize your cover was a fake and is currently using it in their coverage of Palin.

Too funny! I first searched for Sarah Palin Vogue today around 1:30 p.m. and yours was the first hit on Google. I searched for it again tonight, looking for your site, and could not find your page but found this pic all over the net saying it was really the cover. Gave me a laugh, at least.

MamaCole said...

I came upon this after an image search for Sarah Palin too. VERY funny. Can you do one for McCain on the cover of say... Rolling Stone??

Ishmael said...

Sean,
Now that is what you'd call a hoot.

Too bad they cut off my web address from the bottom....

Thanks for the head's-up!

Ishmael said...

McCain on Rolling Stone.... Maybe as Charlie Watts of The Rolling Stones? I like it.

Or! Wasn't there a good Bruce Springsteen cover earlier this year or late last.... Hmmmmmmmm......

Butch said...

Advance copy, not advanced.

nicholasstix said...

Great work, Ish. You don't happen to work for Reuters, do you?

Ishmael said...

Thanks. Don't work for Reuters... are they known for faking... oh, wait, the Iranian Missiles, right? No?

Anyway, thanks!

Obama=Hitler? You poor man. You clearly work with cretins. As any sensible person knows, the proper comparison is not Obama/Hitler, but Obama/Mugabe.

A very important Italian newspaper (La Stampa) put this picture on its front page. The caption reads: "2007 Vogue cover showing the beautiful Governor Sarah Palin". I do hope you can see it here: http://cfdp.tumblr.com/post/48017784/la-stampa-ha-in-prima-pagina-una-foto-enorme-della

The photoshop hoaxer was named Adnan Hajj, a Lebanese freelancer who worked for Reuters, until he got caught during the Summer 2006 Israeli-Lebanese War, and was summarily fired, and all 920 of his Reuters photos removed from R's sales Web site.

You already know that your picture has been used on the first page of an italian newspaper, and they believed it was REAL?!? In Italy, all bloggers are laughing at this. Italian information is going worse and worse.

scott_ronson said...

Your fake has been published on the front page of an italian national newspaper. Of course, they didn't realize it was a fake.
:-D

She rocks. A MILTF for sure!

jerblaine said...

I thought this was real......dang I do not want anymore conservs in the white house. I hope her hotness doesn't take votes away from Obama!!

Ron Franscell said...

The self-same Obamaniacs who worship Him as a savior of the world seem now to be decrying Sarah Palin's "lack of experience." Go figure.

Anghelos said...

Ah ah, d'you know some Italian newspapers thought your image was real and posted it saying that Palin posed for Vogue?

Ishmael said...

Looks like someone tipped off La Stampa and they put up a tag to their cutline online. That is if "E un falso, sappiatelo," means what I think it does. And it links back to The KoKon.

Wild.

Thanks everyone for commenting. There's plenty more Sarah Palin images and artwork on the blog, just do a search for her name in the box up at the top (or click her name in the tags at the bottom of the post). I'll try to aggregate a bunch and make a link to it to make it easier.

Webmaster said...

What kind of sick person in Alaska would support a snake oil salesman like Obummer? LOL

What a joke.

tvsofia said...

hey, i'm brazilian and I really hope Obama gets elected.
and this confusion with the photoshop cover is really funny!=D

Ishmael said...

TVSofia,

Thanks for writing -- and I'm with you on Obama!

Sarah said...

ok. i'm all for making fun of republicans generally. but this is just offensive, making her into a sexual object. it's the same discrimination that hillary faced. can't we just disqualify her based on her lack of experience and not on how nice her legs her. women can be attractive, sexual beings AND be intelligent policy makers as well. shocker, i know.
come on, you had to know this was regressive. let's move forward!

Nico said...

I was wonderin who Palin was and your image was the first to come out of the image search.

Nice work on the image BTW. Thanks

Sam Grace said...

Hey Sarah,
I would agree with you generally, except I think all bets are off when you've got a candidate who was a Beauty Queen. Do you really expect people to leave that alone? It speaks to her values, ESPECIALLY her gender values and calling attention to them is calling attention to her perspective, not taking attention away from it.

I think this is better critique than a lot of the stuff criticizing her mothering abilities, and I'm as feminist as they come.

Hey, Sarah, lighten up. I'm a woman, I'm a Republican, and I think both Sarah Palin and this faux Vogue cover are great! Just why do liberal women, who have been such big promoters of sexual freedom for women by pushing for more birth control, sex education, and abortion rights, get all prim and proper and fuddy-duddy when a beautiful woman gets a lot of attention for her sexuality? It makes all those words of protest about objectification and discrimination sound pretty incongruous. I mean, either you are for sexuality, or you are against it - which is it with you liberal girls?

Oh, and, my great commonwealth of Kentucky had a pretty good looker for a governor back in the early 1980s, Democrat Martha Layne Collins. She was instrumental in getting the Toyota plant built here -- a huge economic gain for KY. The Dems should have picked Martha Layne for a VP spot, and they could've beat the GOP by over 20 years!

She is lame. "Hockey mom" fuck that bullshit.

jgrubert said...

Good work, Ish. Glad I read the blog. She is attractive, but not because of your photoshop. We all want a cause, a flag, a leader that is true. Glad I have her as a choice. Reminds me of someone I read about in Prov. 31. Thanks for the forum.

Ishmael said...

jgrubert, yours is the most thoughtful comment I've received since this whole thing started. Thanks not only for stopping by, but for commenting, and doing it with intelligence and heart.

Cris Melo, Melo Earth said...

Hey Ish, who was on that cover, originally?

Ishmael said...

Hi Cris Melo,
It was a copy of Australian Vogue I found online, not something I bought and scanned, so the covergirl is unknown to me.

Cris Melo, Melo Earth said...

Thank you for the info, Ishmael! I like your blog, and have subscribed via my reader, so I'll be visiting (unless McPalin wins, in which case I may have to kill myself).

Cris Melo, Melo Earth said...

Oh, and please tell me that Alaska is not yet overtaken with religion and gun freaks. Is there still cool people there besides you? Knowing SP and her fans has tarnished the idealistic view I had of Alaska. I even entertained the idea of living there one day, maybe for a season, but that vid of SP's church service scared the poop out of me. Please tell it's not just full of nuts like those peeps!

Ishmael said...

Sorry Cris, rightwing religious gun nuts abound between Anchor Point and Fairbanks (with Anchorage being half-and-half). Actually, most Alaskans like firearms, but in the bush and southeast, not as many religious nuts....

Cris Melo, Melo Earth said...

Yeah, it's been eye opening. Of course I knew about guns and excessive drinking, but I just had no idea about the religion part. Boy, I thought Alaska was safe, but god-fearing folks are everywhere, eh?

So I have this to thank Palin and her witch-huntin' pastor for: opening my eyes to reality.
